Our Families

As of December 9, 2010… here’s an update on closed and open applications. Names have been abbreviated/altered for privacy reasons. Thanks so much to our donors for helping out the following families:

JM: (AML), Children’s Hospital Los Angeles: J is doing great! She’s excelling in school and almost 2 years in remission!

ML: Rady Children’s Hospital, San Diego: M continues to be in and out of the hospital. His family still has a lot of resource needs.

AC: (Right Axillary PNET), Rady Children’s Hospital, San Diego:  A is 6 and is doing great! He completed treatment last year and is back to school.

BH, (Sickle Cell Disease), Children’s Hospital Los Angeles: B if 5 years old and has been struggling since birth. He continues to be on chronic blood transfusions - every 2 weeks, and fortunately has not experienced any recent complications.

ASD, (ALL), Loma Linda Children’s Hospital: A is 2 years old and continues to be in and out of the hospital for treatment.

These families are still awaiting financial assistance:

CT: (Rhabdomyosarcoma), Rady Childrens hospital San Diego: Ceamon is a 16 year old young lady who was diagnosed with stage III rhabdomyosarcoma in May 2009.  She is currently in 10th grade.  She has endured several rounds of chemotherapy and radiation in an attempt to shrink her tumor.  She will soon have surgery to resect the tumor.  She has an amazing personality and brilliant smile.  She has been very postive and couragous throughout treatment.  Her parents are her biggest fans and have supported her through the entire process.  Her mother quit her job in order to care for Ceamon full time.  Ceamon has a 12 year old sister and 20 year old brother.  Her family would greatly appreciate financial assitance with monthly bills.

EF: (Meduloblastoma), Rady Children’s Hospital San Diego: Ethan is 4 years old who has undergone surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy.

DL: (Hemophagocytic Lymphohistiocytosis), Rady Children’s Hospital San Diego: Danielle has a blood disorder and not cancer, and thus doesn’t qualify for chemotherapy assistance, even though the treatments are the same.  Mom is a stay at home mom and dad is on disability which is soon to expire. Danielle will soon undergo a bone marrow transplant (her sister being the donor).
